Problem: Utilities companies (ie. hydro, gas, electrical grid systems) have difficulty communicating with customers, building brand awareness, being transparent with the general public and educating them about their local utility grids, and on information that should be widely known.

The employer is looking to build a website to market their marketing solution to electric utilities (primary target customer).

Using behavioral psychology, via both the online game and comic strip, it allows the primary customer (the utility) to build brand awareness, transparency/openness, engagement and hopefully, ultimately, the support from their customers (ie. the general public) for the utility company, which is beneficial for future government rate increase hearings.

The website informs our potential customers about a solution to provide education about utilities in an fun, interactive way that appeals to children and adults alike. As mentioned above, the solution includes comic strips (could be purposed for spreading general information, current news or to tie the experiences in the strip to the game), and a game (called Blackout).


There are three main customers that I want the site to reach out to:
the electric utility (as noted above)
Game sponsors (e.g. General Electric, Siemens, etc.) who want their products and solutions shown in the game play.
Non Governmental Organizations (NGO). They often set up electrical grids where there aren’t any, e.g outside of urban areas throughout Africa and in parts of India, where they need a way to teach the future customers how to use the electricity properly.

This is a B to C play and my customers will be the “B.” This website needs to let the groups above know how using this platform will allow them to meet their requirements. And the requirements for 1, 2 and 3 above might have some overlap but are ultimately, different. The target consumers (excluding the NGOs) of the solution are regular people who, with data-driven, behavioral-science-based messaging, can be encouraged to make reductions in energy consumption/ environmental impact, gain more brand awareness of the utility company/sponsor, and gain any information that those organizations wish to disseminate while having fun.

The purpose of the website is marketing - it will act as a “brochure” for the solution, letting visitors know about what is included in the service (customized interactive comics, white labeled game).


Copy writing required for each of the following components:

Home page.
Utilities landing page
NGO landing Page
Sponsors landing page.
about alineagames landing page.

Expected output would be to provide a compelling marketing copy writing which will drive users to login to the service to try it out.

The content should contain the following:

Home page:
a bit about alineaGames and what they are doing -> found in the description mentioned above.

Utilities:
Playing the game will allow users to learn more about the impacts of certain decisions, and will provide the adults who are involved an additional channel for communication.

Once these adults are more aware, and become board members they will help make more informed decisions.

NGO:
If there is some sort of issue i.e; if something is going on in the middle east. The benefit is to provide information to the public on these issues and educating them about infrastructure through the comic strip and the game play that we have in place. This is not limited to just utility centric application, it is applicable to any social issue that might be appealing to an NGO.

Game Sponsor:
Benefits of advertising to get brand awareness. For game sponsors we will be able to include their branding into the game play and comic strips as required. Refer to attached document.
