I have a simple process automation task that I'd like solved.

Attached you will find a cutting list with 3 material types, the various lengths that need to be cut, and the length that each material is available in.
I need to automate the process for determining cutting profiles to eliminate waste.
This is known as the Cutting Stock Problem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutting_stock_problem

The best entries will allow for different materials and lengths.

EDIT: Some entries have performed well and have begun testing with a more complex cutting list, please see attached.
EDIT: In response to some queries, submissions that can import a spreadsheet, calculate, then export to a spreadsheet are also within the bounds of the contest.

Hello, as there will be more than one combination for waste minimization, i want to know the exact requirement.Is it one automated excel sheet that will provide you more than one optimal solution? or you want only one optimal solution?

Hello, do you have unlimited material? Or do you want to cut the minimum material? What I understand is, it doesn't matter how many materials are cut. It is important only minimal waste. If so, why did you give various quantity to cut?

  Hi Abdullah. In practice, we are always able to source more material, the objective is to optimise cutting profiles to use the overall material efficiently. We use materials in various applications at one time, resulting in varied lengths to be cut from the same bar.
