Create a simple algorithm in PHP to calculate profitability. details in the attachment. This project is a test project as I need few programmers to work on financial reporting very similar to this task.

I found it hard, and some questions came when tried to solve it, can you tell:
- What is the formula to calculate the weighted average of previous costs for a date?
- When we have more than a Bye for one date (eg 06-20-15) what is the formula to calculate the cost for this only date?
- And same if you have more than a Sell for one date, what is the formula to calculate the profit for this only date?

  it's cost of the inventory FIFO- basically you sell the oldest inventory. each item acquired to the inventory has cost

  I don't understand, but i will try answer my own questions and tell me if it's correct, i will take date examples from the Excel file.
  
  For first question, if we want to calculate the weighted average of costs previous to 06-19-15, is it:
  ((1480-14,5*100)*10 + (1565-15,4*100)*8)/2
  Or: sum((price-spot*weight)*qty)/n where n is number of previous buys?
  
  For second question, if we want to calculate the cost for a date where we did more than a buy, in 06-20-15 we did 2 buys, i suppose the cost for this date is calculated by using the same formula as above, so we calculate the weighted average of the 2 costs for this only date to get the cost for that date?
  
  For third question, if we want to calculate the profit for a date where we did more than a sale, in the Excel file there is always 1 Sale per date, but if we had a situation like so should we use a weighted average again to calculate the profit for a date with more than a sale?
