The server application consists of a GUI, a database backend and a web script to interface between the client and server. The server application will accept a url based request from a client application via a server script. The script will query the database and return any available messages from the server.
* GUI * (ASP.net)
The GUI's primary function is to allow an administrator to add, edit and delete HTML-type messages, HTML-type templates (allows faster creation of messages) and groups (clients will belong to a group and will query the server for any group messages).
The GUI allows the administrator to login and create messages to store in the database. The admin will use login and select a template from a scrolling pick-list. The pick list will contain the template name and a text box will display the description when the admin selects a template name. The admin can also see a preview of the template by selecting the preview button. A separate window will open displaying the template in the desired height and width. Once a template is selected, the admin can modify the message as necessary to send. Once the message has been modified, the admin selects the group(s) and the new message stored in the database.
The GUI also allows the admin to create templates for later use. The admin selects the template option and can edit and delete current templates or create a new template. Creating a new templates presents a blank dialog box with an area for the database contents as specified in the TEMPLATE database table.
Consist of four primary tables (MESSAGE, TEMPLATE, GROUP, ADMIN-INFO)
Information is entered into the database via the GUI.
The script accepts a url-based connection from the client(s) applications, queries the database for an available message and returns the message to the client.
There is currently another listing for the Client application on getafreelancer.
