TOPIC for the Research Paper " Q: Archaeology of the First People of the Northwest Coast". Guidelines to complete the research paper: We are going to discuss in this research paper about NorthWest Coast ( North America, especially British Columbia). The essay must be written in academic format and will be graded on such criteria as organization, grammar, clarity, degree of difficulty and thoroughness of research. The paper should be between 10 pages in length, double spaced, with proper citation referencing and a bibliography. You should have between 15 and 20 reference sources in your bibliography. Remember, only primary sources can qualify as references. Internet references from established journals are accepted. Otherwise, unless a web reference is from a subject-specific Aboriginal or government website, the reference is not acceptable. The INTRODUCTION to your Essay should clearly state the thesis, what the goal or purpose of your Essay is and then outline how you intend to prove your thesis (the methodology). The BODY of the paper presents your information in an organized, logical and thorough manner. The CONCLUSION restates your initial question and states how you data support your thesis. You can then summarize your argument (or case) and provide concluding remarks. With REFERENCES, remember that you provide a reference when providing information that is not your own. Within the first few pages of a paper it is not uncommon to see 15 citations. The citation comes at the end of a sentence, just before the period. Go to any anthropology textbook or the articles in your course-ware package and see the style for their referencing. I can then go to the bibliography at the end of your paper and get the publication details to look up the information. You are expected to look for PRIMARY SOURCES in the library, or in e-journals. This is a research paper. This means you should not use general texts as sources for the information about the topic you choose. Diagrams and maps – which are often useful - and direct quotations, which should be kept to a minimum, must have the source indicated if they are taken from another publication.
