For this assignment you will be writing a report comparing two open source licences of your choice and comparing them both to a licence for proprietary software. You will be provided with licence options.
The report should be written as if you have been tasked to produce a report for a company on this licence.
It should cover:
A short description of the licences chosen.
An analysis of the legal and ethical considerations of the licences
Legal aspects, what kinds of licence can this be combined with when licensing software?
Relevance to projects with a mix of closed and open source components
Implications for the future of any codebase using that licence.
Examples, with summaries, of current software projects using that licence.
As part of this report you will also be expected to have looked at other license types aside from the main one you have chosen, so you can compare and contrast it to those licences.
We will expect to see evidence of research, so you must reference your work.
