Here is a sample of my writing so that you can see that I have good English skills: I was initially somewhat conflicted over whether to indicate “Tempo Rubato” or “Quasi Cadenza”, but I eventually decided that the movement needed the stability that would be given by allowing the player less freedom than would be given by a “Quasi Cadenza” marking. The title of the movement “Elegy” should inform the expression. The “Allegro Agitato” marking and the music itself should be sufficient performance indicators for the second movement. This movement is a fast allegro, and the tempo could almost approach a “Presto”. Aside from the “Agitato”, the movement should not be played with too much expression. The third movement is a song without words. As with the second movement, the tempo/expression indicators should give a very good indication of how the movement should be performed. This movement should be played in a singing style, and with much expression- staying, of course, within the bounds of good taste- sentimentalism and mawkishness should be avoided. The fourth movement is similar in character to the second, but more relaxed- almost “jaunty” at times. This movement should be played with a strong sense of rhythm. Note the “Allegretto”- it should not be too fast. My original tempo marking was “Presto”, but I found this to be far too fast, so it was revised to “Allegretto”.
