We have a battery powered sensor device built around a Atmel 32 bits micro controller. We would like add wifi to it (wifi device) so it could log its measured data on a web database.
To ease the project, the Blue Giga can be purchased and arranged on a prototype board like an Arduino (or any other) as long as we can buy and assemble the same on our side. Results can then be tested quickly.
You must know:
- Programming of Atmel 32 bits uc in C
- How to use wifi modules able to connect to the internet
- We want to work with the BlueGiga WF-121 unless you have a better or cheaper or a more power efficient module to suggest. Battery is critical
- How to make the device to connect to a web server and log its measured data
- How to install and use a free web database so that we can test the results to approve the work
What we want more precisely:
- You decide which prototype board we will use to connect the BlueGiga or other
- We want the wifi device to be a client
- In the Atmel uc, make a C demo code that finds the surrounding wifi networks and make it connect to:
1- the known wifi networks
2- the unsecured/public ones
- Demo code will also let the device to log its data on a web database. We will make a simple html page to show it
- As I said, power consumption is important to minimise the battery size. So if you have an “as good” module that consumes less power, please tell us about it
- Once everything is working well, show us how to use it and explain the code
- A clean, reliable and well done code. No huge functions that execute the whole program in only one loop. We want a .h and a .c file with the driver code for the BlueGiga. We must be able to easily embed it into any project
Any questions are welcome! Ready to start?
