I generate quotes using Excel from a CSV, XLS and if this goes well some HTML files as well.
The job is fairly simple:
1. Add in functionality to calculate margin and add it to the quote and round to nearest cent.
2. increment a counter (quote number in format: BB10xx.x where X is the revision)
3. Copy CSV columns and maintain style in cells
4. scale the Excel workbook printable area to reflect the number of line items.
5. offer up a chance to title the quote in both the filename and 1 cell in the worksheet.
There is 2 more input HTML sheet that will need to be accounted for as well (not included here)
