Hi i am a professional embedded design engineer I designed many circuits and their PCB's.......... I designed a same project that you need its a packing system. A conveyor belt moves and when the object approaches the predefined point it cuts the laser that falls on a light detector, the light sensor passes the information to microcontroller and than the microcontroller deactivates the conveyor motor.... Their are total four laser beams at multiple points that stops the conveyor..... Check out the project hardware and PCB on my profile........ I have a Masters degree in Mechatronics and have been working on Arduino for 7 years. My expertise lies in both hardware, software and control systems. Please do chat with me if more info is needed. Following are the steps I propose towards the completion of the project. 1) Setup of Laser+button 2) Interface Light sensor with arduino via ADC(Analog to digital conversion) 3) C code to read light sensor, minor code to reduce noise in ADC reading. 4) Interfacing actuator to release the lock (Check if transistor based interfacing required) 5) Testing and documentation
