Hi, I would like the following product designed.
Overview:
Design an attractive box which has an electronic time lock.
Explanation:
Humans are always tempted by junk food, remote controls, smart phones or drugs. Some people find it hard to control these temptations. I would like to build a box which allows the user to lock their temptations away from themselves using a simple digital timer.
The user would place the item in the box, put the lid on the box, set the digital timer to x amount of time, after which the box would lock itself for that amount of time. Once the timer has run down to zero, the box unlocks itself again and the user can access his item.
Once the box is closed there should be no way of opening it until the timer has run out.
The first run box should be simply made out of plastic, with a plastic self locking lid. Later different versions of the box will be designed.
Design:
The design of the box should be very modern, think if apple built a box. The strength and quality of materials used should be of high quality.
Function:
The box needs to run on a single AA battery.
The box needs a screen for a digital timer.
The box needs an input method for the digital timer.
The box needs to be able to lock and unlock itself according to the timer setting.
There should be a way to cancel your "lock" command within the first 10 seconds.
I look forward to getting some feedback on the effort required to design this product to a level where it could be handed to a supplier in china.
