I have a customer management system built in PHP CodeIgniter for a client. At the moment they can click on a 'Generate Invoice' button ([login to view URL] attached) and a PDF invoice will be generated (attached). This all works fine, but what they would like to do is download the invoice in an excel or word format so that they can edit the invoice if they need to.

Hello! My name is Alex. I`m experienced developer on CI (did a lot of projects few years ago) and can help you with this task. For now it looks not so complicated: system generates PDF files based on templates and data for invoice. It seems that we need to find out where it generates final file and replace it with the proper one doc or xls file. Of course, it`ll require some coding. Anyway, to estimate time-price better, it`d be good to take a look at the code that generates final file.
