Marine Distance Calculator with Route Map
I need someone who can develop a software plugin that can calculate maritime distances from any point A to B in the world. This will be based on boat/ship average speed, marine distance from one point to the other (marine distances are not straight lines e.g. a ship that needs to go from Sydney to Bejing will have many islands that it has to travel around and also entire masses of land it has to avoid and also some contingency for weather or other delays that might arise during the voyage. I need this calculator for every ocean, sea and river port of the world. There are already websites/software out there that are doing this and I can guide the developer to them.
This project will need some sort of maritime or shipping knowledge as it will be much easier for such a person to understand the terminology and what needs to be done. I also want the software to show on a map the route taken from Point A to Point B along with the time and distance calculations. The user should be able to avoid certain areas or change the route e.g. if they want to go from Cape of Good Hope instead of Suez Canal Route to get to West Africa from Dubai etc.
