Over the past six years, while at working at a nonprofit, at the White House, and on Capital Hill, I ideated hundreds and hundreds of social media campaigns, created graphics and implemented each one of these campaigns - targeting individuals and connecting the nonprofit with tens of millions of people.
My social media campaigns were able to reach tens of millions of people partly because of the graphics I created and partly because of the copy I wrote for these campaigns. I used a formulaic copy-writing methodology called AIDA to help me ideate content. I drew the user into the ad by writing an attention-grabbing headline – which is the A. I was able to generate interest in the content by making the promotion applicable to the target user and their needs – which is the I. Then I was able to create a desire for the content – which is the D. And I finished the advertisement with a call to action – which is the A. Of course, this is the very ‘dry bones’ assessment of my methodology; and the creativity I brought to each advertisement made each campaign unique, fun, and engaging.
