Design a Magazine Template for a Cruise Holiday

We are looking for a magazine designer. We need someone to design a template that looks like a quality, professional magazine, that users can drop their own photos and text into. The idea is similar to a photo book where the user creates their own finished magazine, but they pick one of our magazine templates to start with. Here are a few requirements: • Magazine template needs to be 32 pages • The theme of the magazine should be a cruise holiday • The word count per page should be maximum 150-200 words (we do not want too many long articles) • The template needs to flow and look like a unified magazine. We don’t want bits and pieces that do not match up and look disjointed. • We want the design to look like a MAGAZINE, not a photo book. Although there may be some pages with no text at all (this is okay) the design needs to still look professional and have some elements of a magazine in it – good magazine designers will know the difference between a photo book layout and a magazine layout. • Please just use sample images – these will be deleted and replaced with our own images at the end. • Just use latin or sample placeholder text. • We don’t have a specific page layout in this brief and will leave it up to the designer to make the magazine flow. We don’t want every page to be repetitive, the design needs to be interesting to read but still look cohesive. • There will be no advertising in the magazine. • Please bear in mind that all headings and text will need to work with any image (light or dark) as multiple users will be dropping their own photos into the place holders. So this means you may need to use a drop shadow or a shaded box behind text if it overlaps an image. • Overall we are looking for an experienced magazine designer who has the creativity to come up with something that looks slick within these requirements. • We have multiple magazine projects that we are working on so this is one of many similar jobs that we plan on posting. • We would like the designer to create 4 pages just to see if they understand the brief correctly, and give them some feeback before they continue with the remaining 28 pages.
