Designer for whole new line of eyewear

I am the head of a pioneering start up which is looking to introduce a new line of eyewear to include prescription glasses and sunglasses. The designs will need to be based on existing popular designs in the market while incorporating certain unique elements and of course, functionality. Two ranges (one for men and one for women) will need to be created, with around 30 pairs of prescription frames in each range, together with some sunglasses. I am looking for a designer to become a part of the team. The line of eyewear will need to be provided straight to the manufacturer for production. Happy to work with freehand designs but the final product needs to be in a format that can be readily provided to overseas manufacturers for production. Therefore ability to work with relevant CAD systems to achieve an accurate final product is required. The job will initially be for a fixed contract and if we are all happy we will aim to continue working together to supplement and expand the existing line and move with seasonal changes. Your responsibilities: - Understand business and user requirements - Translate requirements into highly engaging and compelling design concepts - Effectively conceptualize, design and create high-quality visuals in a variety of formats Your qualifications: - Strong grasp of visual design principles, information design, typography, color, imagery and iconography - Compelling portfolio that demonstrates elegant and innovative visual design - References or an established reputation on Elance preferred
