We need to develop a Meter-bus protocol device driver for AggreGate Platform ([login to view URL]) using its open-source Driver Development Kit ([login to view URL]). AggreGate drivers are Java-based. The driver must: - Be based on jMBus library ([login to view URL]) or other open-source library - Send some test command to a meter to make sure connection is available - Get meter readings and represent them as AggreGate Device Settings ("variables of device context") - Properly hangle all communication and data errors

Hi, Quick question: From the first glance, I'd say that AggreGate Platform acts as client in the imagined 'client-server' system, with the meter device being a 'server' of sorts, correct? In other words: Will AggreGate poll the device through the driver that needs to be implemented? I've worked on other low-level protocol integration projects using Java.
