Adding a few additional features to a PDF using Javascript, or other technique. We are creating a PDF file that has a few pages of interactivity and information and then includes a number of direct links to other files inserted into the PDF package. We have a working system but would like to add some finnesse to the final capability so there are a couple of additional features that we would like to add.
1) We would like to include rollover capability to the links to provide an introduction to the content. This could be either a pop-up text box or activate/make visible a text area within the screen. The latter would be the prefered option as the positioning and typography could be controlled.
2) At present the interactive links (between pages) are single clicks but the links to the files are double-click events in Acrobat Reader. This is not as intuitive as we would like and think that Javascript might provide a single click from the link to the opening of the packaged file.
We need to be able to re-use the code developed and retain ownership rights over it for future distribution.
