Apache Linux Server Plesk Email Setup

Hi,

We have recently moved our websites to a new dedicated server.

The websites are live and running.

We are however having trouble with our email on the server.

Webmail works fine, however outlook connects only sometimes, and other times does not (displays the disconnected icon)

The strange thing is that it goes on and off like a tap! - LITERALLY WORKS ON MOMENT AND NOT THE NEXT. When it is working it sends and receives fine.

I am unsure whether this is a DNS / MX record issue, a plesk issue, port, firewall or a server issue etc.

I am using IMAP.

I get the same problem whilst connecting from home (virgin broadband) or work (orange) and on multiple computers.

Before we moved the sites to the new server they email was flawless so I am in my own mind guessing the issue is server side rather than any issue on the pc's being used to connect.

My knowledge of things like SSH is basic at best and I do not know how to read/make any sense of error logs etc.

We need someone to have a look and correct what ever it is causing this error.

I can give both root server access and access to our "control panel" with our host.

We would welcome Uk based bids as potentially we will need assistance in the future and we would welcome building a relationship with a "server admin" fro future niggles etc.
