Android OS or Linux Embedded Work on 5-9'' Device

First of all, I'm looking for someone with experience in Android OS or Linux embedded development. If you only have experience writing mobile apps, don't apply. I need help making changes to the OS on Android (preferably), but Linux may work too. Project: We are mounting a consumer tablet on an elliptical (fitness exercise equipment) and I want to control the UI to limit it to my app only. I also need to get signals from the USB port to get the live data from the elliptical to display on the screen. I want to take one of the new consumer Android devices (Archos 5 or Archos 7 as an example) and make the following enhancements to it: - "Lock it down" so that users can not install apps, change settings, launch apps, etc. I will write an app and I want that to be the only app they can run on the device and I want it to run in full screen (no battery etc at the top of the screen). The user shouldn't know it is an Android device or have access to anything but my app. - I want to keep the features built in Android: - To be able to launch the browser from my app - Use WiFi to connect to the internet - File, battery, IO, TCP/HTTP, USB management - Multitouch (not a requirement) - etc - I need to be able to read data from the USB port to get the elliptical data. This will likely be over Atom+ or Zigbee (from the elliptical to the Android device). - I need to be able to upgrade my app remotely (app connects to server periodically and if there is an update, it downloads and installs it). - I would like to be able to upgrade the drivers and OS remotely as well (not a requirement) You must speak excellent English. It is important that you have experience in these areas and you can hit the ground running. ## Deliverables 1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement). 2) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 3) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Employer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Employer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the employer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this project. ## Platform Android, Linux, Embedded System
