My proposal for this job is: - update system - install last stable apache version with mod_jk to connect on Tomcat for security reasons; - install last stable Tomcat and all required libs as mysql_connector and jmail, log4j, etc; - install and tunning last stable MySQL or MariaDB; - install monit to take sure both tomcat, apache and mysql will be run and up; - install a backup script to take sure your data will be backuped all days; - setup firewall rules and adjust SSH to improve security and prevent DoS attacks.
