Dev needed for Native iOS Video Streaming App

Name: Native iOS Video Streaming App Overview: iOS-Native application that plays a continuous stream of videos full screen with minimal user interaction, like a television. It is not live streaming. It is a website and soon to be iOS app that automatically and continuously plays videos we choose in full screen within a browser/app. These videos are sourced from our CDN server and database of video content. The selected developer will have mockups and visuals to reference throughout all parts of the development. If we think you are a good fit and invite you to for a proper interview - we will send you some mockups and design. Functionality: • User opens application to a static screen. There is a logo, a play button, and a Facebook share button • Tapping launch button begins playing full screen video clips: o Video clips will play full screen and continue without stop. There should be no gap between videos. o Video to be streamed from an external CMS. Developer will not need to create this. o Videos will be provided encoded as iOS-compliant .MP4s already hosted on a CDN • User inputs: o Swiping right on the full screen video will go to the next video. o Swiping left will go to previous. o Tapping video will pause video and show metadata about it. Also pulled from CMS. • Videos will be played randomly from all available in the CMS o App needs to keep track of which videos the user has already seen to avoid repeating. This list must be persistent from session to session • One video (“Intro”) will be shown first every time the user begins a new session • A special category of videos (“Ads”) exists that will be mixed into main feed o These will be shown every X minutes between content o These will be pulled from our CMS and hosted on our CDN like normal videos o They cannot be skipped o App must keep track of what a user has seen and only show repeats once all have been shown • Integrate simple analytics tracking code (ie Indicative) Candidate • Senior-level iOS developer with Objective-C or SWIFT expertise • Experience building custom video players on the iOS platform • Experience creating and placing application in the Apple App Store. • Ideal candidate/team will be able to build an Android version as well Design • All design will be provided, including production-ready graphical elements Workflow • Developer will work with our CTO for technical matters • Project & Tasks will be managed in Trello in “To Do” list. • Tasks are expected to be completed within 24 hours of assignment. • Developer will release a build at least once a day via Test Flight. • Test builds will be expected for review on daily basis. Feedback will be direct and immediate.
