I'm looking for someone to bring a great idea to life! The job requires designing an iPhone application which can be used by travellers to quickly and easily translate things like posters, street signs, advertising etc from a foreign language into a user specified language. The functionality of this application will allow the user to use the inbuilt camera on the phone and 'frame' the desired picture/sign etc which includes text wanting to be translated. The application firstly determines the language automatically using the GPS receiver to work out the location, (should be able to be overridden). It then uses algorithms to recognise the text contained within the 'framed' picture, and uses google translate to translate this text into the users specified language. It can display the translated text as simple text - This can be expanded upon at a later point.
