General Description

In the tradition of the text based multi-user dungeon (MUD), you will be helping us build the game interface for our dotMUD infrastructure. This infrastructure already provides a lot of the base game requirements, as well as a generic framework to be extended for specific game play rules. We need someone to develop the game rules, which consist of extending several dotMUD classes as well as developing the user interface and game scripts.

Bidding and Development Requirements

General

Flat bids only. No hourly rates.

No bids over $ accepted.

Must have previous game development experience or be absolutely amazing.

Must include previous DotNet code samples and web sites with bid.

Assume specification is 80% done to give some leeway.

All property rights to Playful Minds.

Must be able to host alpha and beta.

Quality assurance checklist in spreadsheet to be provided with each build.

Developer to do load test of x number of users.

Code review upon completion of each milestone.

Bids must include time estimates for each of the six milestone.

Hours spent must be recorded and presented each week in hourly increments.

Coding

DotNet 2003

C#, not VB

WinCVS and/or FTP for code and exe updates.

2 months. No more than 4 months. Quality over speed.

No pay for incomplete work or deadline miss.

Written updates every Friday and Tuesday with questions, issues, hours, & progress.

Clean code.

Well documented and documented as progressed.

One Year Code support and bug fixes.

Use our online Bug Tracker System.

Must have AOL Instant Messenger for easy communication.

Use our Security for key encryption.

Target Host platform: Windows 2k, 2003, XP pro. IIS.

Installer and Install instructions for hosting.

Help file built in game.

Failure to file progress reports without notice can terminate the project.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
