ASP Script Changes and Additions

VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE WINDOWS CODER NEEDED! Our website uses an ASP script to allow our clients to login and download files. The files reside in a directory w/ the same name as the username. Currently, our script must be in the root directory where all user folders are located. The script searches the user directory and displays all files available for download. The files appear as weblinks which means they must reside in the webdirectory... this is a problem. The ASP script runs on Win2kServer w/ IIS 5. SSL and Integrated Windows Authentication is used to protect the site. 1st: We purchased a new file server and would now like to move all user files to the server while keeping the ASP script on the webserver. This means accessing and manipulating the files through a shared resource without having these files viewable directly from the web. 2nd: The files our users typically download are .ps (postscript files.) Currently, they must right-click on the file link and wait for each file to completely download before tring to save another. After saving, they must use ghostscript to print these files 1-by-1. We would like check/radio boxes next to each .ps file so users may select multiple files to download. Additionally, we would like to give users the option of having all files printed automatically after saving all the files. Since the saved files do not need to be archived on the client's computer they also need the option of deleting these files off the local HDD when finished printing. A client side progress indicator would be helpful. Some of this may be performed with a client side script or application as long as it doesn't require a separate installation ... the site must be seamless. (Perhaps a Java applet or VB of some sort?) *****The idea is for users to login when they start work in the morning, cue all the files for the day, and then go about other buisness while they files are transfered and printed. Most clients have slow dial-up.***** 3rd: Users need a way of logging out. Currently they must completely close all instances of IE and then reconnect to the wesite to login as a different user. The current ASP script source and a brief network layout will be provided upon bidder acceptance. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. 4) Documentation of how the script and/or application works and the steps needed to implement this on a Windows 2000 Server. 5) ASP script should be neatly and thoroughly commented as to its operation and functions. 6) Coder must be available during server installation and configuration to answer questions (email is just fine.) (There may be alot of questions as to Windows Permissions especially relating to shared resources. That's why a VERY KNOWLEGEABLE Windows Coder is needed.) ## Platform Windows 2000 Server Windows 2000 Advanced Server IIS 5.0 and greater Must be compatible with IE 5.5 and greater. Must be compatible with all operating systems that support IE also. ## Deadline information ***** We do not currently use a database of any kind. We do not wish to implement a database at this time. It is very easy for our staff to drop client's files into a shared folder (on the server) without any other steps involved. Please bid on modifying our current design and implementation, not a complete redesign. You can see some of the functions but we're not gonna give out the info to test this. This is another way to perform some of the needed functions on our website. If done in this format, as a webapp, it must use our SSL connection.
