Distributed Cache and Session Management System

Requirements Cache is used to increase the performance and scalability of n-tier applications. The final project for this course is to design, document and implement a distributed cache that can be used in a Web-Farm. The cache should use the existing ASP.NET Cache object, SQL Server Database, Windows Services and MSMQ to store and transmit cached objects. Components of the Caching system: 1) Caching Framework that uses ASP.NET Caching Object 2) SQL Server Database table (Schema will be discussed in class) 3) Two MSMQ queues cachestartupq and cacheupdateq 4) A Windows Service that listens to MSMQ messages on each machine and updates the Cache 5) A scavenging Windows Service that cleans up inactive web servers from the WebFarm database table. This service runs on the Database machine and scans the WebFarm database table every 5 mins to delete inactive web servers 6) The communication mechanism between the Windows Service and the Cache is left open to the developer. It can be Remoting, Sockets or even Web Service. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Windows 2000
