I am interested in a front end to a database. The database is defined via a connection string such as MDB or SQL 2000 (may be even 2005 still have not migrated but willing). The front end may be .NET or Java. The final product will be a converter/display of the data in the database for example an image present in the database in the form of a serial set of pixels, the front end will read the values from the database and construct the images for display. images are about 256 x 256 x 200 pixels. We will be selecting a specific location and accordingly a 2D image will be constructed and displayed... The images are grayscale but I would want to highlight specific pixels based on a specific query.. Therefore.. the table is something along the lines:
pixel value flag
1 200 0 ...etc.
the flag may be taking values anywhere from 0 to 8 which will cause the pixel to have white borders for example or overlay the gray scale with a 25% reddish... will depend on programmer's creativity to highlight pixels of special interest.
