The '**CheapNCheerful'** company is a retail organisation with a number of outlets in the region. They sell a wide range of goods through a catalogue. They are renowned for the vast range of goods supplied at low cost. They started with a small number of outlets in the north east region of the United Kingdombut they want to expand their customer base through providing sales over the internet, with delivery by lorry to homes. **CheapNCheerful** then hope to expand the business to deliver to more regions in this country as the business grows. However, the next phase of development that is planned is to use the Internet to provide the catalogue online and to provide purchasing online. The company has decided to redesign their customer purchasing system using an object oriented design and implementation. You are required to lead the design by redeveloping the existing system to an object oriented system and extending the system to provide online facilities. ## Deliverables 1. You are supplied with an activity diagram of the original outlet only system. For the new internet system, produce a text description of your proposed internet process. Describe any improvements to the customer purchasing process, in terms of either a better customer service or improved operating efficiency. 2. Draw a new activity diagram for the internet operation with the inclusion of any improvements you might suggest in (1) above. An activity diagram is supplied for the outlet only purchasing system. Use this diagram to help you. 3. Produce a class diagram for the internet purchasing system, based upon the specification in (1) and the activity diagram produced in (2). The purchasing system includes the checking of stock availability, and the notification of stock to be selected in the warehouse, but will not include the stock picking, stock replenishment or any aspect of delivery. The payment processing for the order should be included. Give your reasons for the class and relationship design where appropriate. The class diagram should be fully annotated to include the appropriate class data and operations. 4. Using the class diagram in (3) produce a sequence diagram for the placing of an order (possibly with multiple order lines) via the internet. Do not include any online payments processing. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
