We have an existing Microsoft Access ADP file. If you don't know what an ADP file is, don't bother bidding. It was written using an extension of the menu system that Access provides
which makes it very difficult to modify the forms-they are nested inside of other forms, and the system dynamically loads and unloads forms based on menu choices.
We a standard app where each parent form stands on its own, without having to be dynamically loaded.
The system enforces user security based on Active Drectory group membership.
The app also has lots of things that need to be cleaned up. For example, many forms have SQL statements that get requeried as data changes, and these statements are in several different places. Sometimes we make changes to the SQL and it works on the form, but then when the user clicks something it doesn't work because it uses a different SQL statement.
The new app should use some type of navigation menu system that includes all the functionality of the existing app. No new business logic, just taking existing forms and making them work without that crazy, nested, load forms dynamically menu system.
Attached is a zip file with the adp file and a backup of the SQL database. Anyone bidding on this project must be able to get the adp file working with the database, and demonstrate to me that it is working by posting screenshots of the existing adp file in action with data populated in the forms.
In your bid indicate just how you plan to implement the new navigation system (toolbar, custom application menu, forms-based menus, etc). I will give preference to bids that include an MDB file with the basic layout and form navigation structure.
