We are looking for someone to reconfigure, or preferably recreate, the user database architecture for [login to view URL], to create a more robust, simpler to search user database, before we create a visual overhaul of the site. Expert knowledge of Joomla, or with a similar PHP system, is required, as is skill with integration into the existing HTML architecture. Aggregation of existing data must be included. The user must be able to connect with other members, based on search queries for the following: -Location -Latest log-in -Intruments played -Skill level per instrument -Self-rated -Peer-rated -Skill level overall -Self-rated -Peer-rated -Availability of venue -Musical style Additionally, it must be templatized, for easy addition of new search categories at our discretion. We are accepting fixed-price bids for this project, and the time period for completion must be within two weeks.

Hello there, English webmaster here. I would build the site on a Content Managment System (CMS) to make it easy for you to add and edit the pages. I have been using Joomla CMS for over 5 years and have built over 50 sites with it. I would build in a "directory" app which will then allow you to add listing - example Musicians then you would be able to have as many custom fields as you need such as Instruments played/rating/music style/ etc etc these fields can also be displayed as icons as well as plain text - for instance we could display the instrument played field on the register form, when you look at the users profile they have a icon for that instrument instead of the text. The users of the site would then be able to search the directory and add other users and create or join "groups". The user profiling system can also have users imported in to it so it should be able to handle your existing users. By using a CMS you do not have to have expensive software on your pc just a web browser to update your site. Training for using the CMS system would also be supplied as part of the bid - I usually do this over Skype with a screen-share or by dedicated conferencing. I have excellent communications skills and also speak in perfect English (because I am English) so there will be no lost in translation problems here. I have no problems being contacted on Skype or on the phone for discussions.
