Ajax javascript for monitoring trading engines

We are in the process of developing a trading engine java application. We need a browser based UI for it. The idea is that there will be multiple engines running on the multiple machines (more than one per machine) and that each engine via JMX and then [login to view URL] will allow http querying and control. We do not yet have that layer in place so the developer will have to simulate it for now. The desired UI should have the specified elements but should also be written to be extensible. Please read the specifications and in addition to your experience submit your UI concept design. ## Deliverables A trading engine is a program that runs stock market (or other market) trading strategies. You can have concurrent strategies on the same machine and multiple machines. In this case we are talking about the UI for a single running trading strategy. The UI will contain the following elements: Global: * Profit (float): Total, realized, unrealized, long, short * Position (integer): Total shares, net shares, long, short * Value (float): Total, net * Should be able to generate minute graph of any of the above * Number symbols tracking (integer) * Getting data (boolean) and data stats ticks/minute (float) * Connected to execution server (boolean) * Connected to sync (boolean) Portfolio: * Current open positions: Symbol (txt), size(int), profit (float), direction (txt), max profit(float), entry time (time) and day if overnight * All trades executed: symbol, profit, direction, time in/out Commands: * Start trading * Exit only * Disable symbol * shutdown * query a symbol (from list box) to get information about it, volume (int), last price (float), market volume (int), cur volume(int), etc (should be extensible) All orders sent in a separate box: symbol (txt), price(float), time, where sent (txt), type (txt), execution status (txt) System messages: scrolling text messages in another box Strategy: * Strategy name * Strategy specific statuses as HTML text
