real time data entry from USB/Serial port.? ? I wish to receive, display and save information sent from instruments through an AVIT Serial/USB converter.? I need 3 forms configured roughly as follows.
?
1) I? send a capital S to receive the serial number of the instruments.? I'm going to have a 'form' at the start of the program based on this that will say, instruments connected OK
?
2) I send a capital C to receive a continuous stream of x, y pairs
I'm wanting a form based on this that will display these values on a scrolling plot and will also allow me to display short and long term averages.
?
3) I send a capital D to start the instruments recording.? As they record they send roll, pitch pairs every? X seconds that I would like to display as with (2) above.? When the recording period is over, the instruments send an 'esc' character and then send a package of 2048 x, y? pairs followed by an esc character.
?
I need to capture the data coming through the port into program variables that I can then work on or write to file
Implementation is Delphi 6? with comport installed
