I have extracted data from an MLS to feed into other systems as well as importing data into CRM's such as Zoho. I did an analysis of doing the same for SalesForce for a client contemplating a switch and the basics are almost identical.
For practical reasons, I suggest that you consider splitting your project into bite sized chunks instead of using a big bang approach. The first step would be to define in big brush strokes exactly what you want doing and which of these tasks specifically will be of the most value. Tackle that, and then move on to the next one.
