Consultation only - no coding is needed this phase We need expert from this field, ideally who already have experience on related jobs. Objective: to find similar entry across database Scenario: in a database of around 1000 articles, find out those which might be similar with an indicator of similarity strength Definition of similar: (important) - fuzzy string searching / approximate string matching is one of the approach but not the only - we need to identify words in different spelling but in similar meaning, ie. mall vs market vs mart, happy vs excited vs pleasure, 18/6/2014 vs mid Jun 14 etc - in other words, a database of similar/related words will be needed If you are interested please let me know your approach in brief as well as any reference of related job you involved. Hi there This sounds like something I can do, having done text manipulation and querying in other databases. However I would need to see the database to give you a better idea of my approach and whether I can do it. Would that be possible? Actually I think I know exactly how it would be done, it would be mainly script based: create a table with a record for every word used. The manually analyze the words and terms and work out which ones are pertaining to the same meaning. Words that share the same meaning can be replaced with an identifier. Via a relationship or function similarity can be worked out. However, how you actually want similarity to be conveyed might be a tricky one, I would need more information on that would be supposed to look. To be honest my current bid price could well go up a bit, depending on the above issues. It would be great to see the database first though. The biggest question is whether this is a one off or something that you want integrating in to your database. Thanks
