Introduction. In breif - import a .txt file, chop it up, and place into an Excel(97) template (includes charts and calculations) We have a sales force out in the field (in the UK) who look after our Domestic customers who export out of the UK. But some of these Sales Reps look after some domestic accounts as well. The International customers have been given the prefix of “Eur01 to Eur12 including Eur????? the Eur??? Is an extra code for the management accounts. The “Eur?? codes are known as “Territory Codes?? hence “Terri Code?? in the Template. The Terri code is made up from a set geographical (Counties) area, identified by the UK PostCode system. The Domestic accounts are grouped by the individual post code system and are know as “Rep Code?? in the template. This information is always in the “Header?? marker. What I do with this method of reporting is to collate all relevant information belonging to the customer and their Trading habits ??" it’s a mild form of customer profiling. So it would be the “TurnOver?? “Parcels?? “Weight?? “Deliveries?? and from these values I can identify the general “Trading Health?? of the customer. To take it a bit further I then extract the various countries that they have been trading with and break down the type of “Service?? they have been using. I put in a “Good Performance indicator?? which is a trading level known as the “Threshold?? of say £2000 and produce a report to say that; For all the customers in “Eur01?? separate all the customers that have a monthly Turn over of above £2000 and put them into “Acustomers?? sheet. For the rest of the customers for “Eur01?? put them into “BCustomers?? sheet and for all the customers that have not traded this reporting month put them into “Down Traders?? sheet. There are three other sheets in each “Eur01?? report, which I will get to later. The “txt?? file. The “txt?? file is picked up from /u1/export/home/ducod/cprogs/terri If you use this path to start off with, but make it changeable (maybe by inserting a vbmsg box requesting the path prior to the running of the program) it would make it sort of portable so to speak. If you look at the Text file the Account number that comes after 55203787 is 55219349 and NOT 55970850 But in the actual report between 55203787 and 55219349 there is this big gap and then the data for Acc # 55970850. What is going on here?
