I want to develop a thin iphone case that can support a battery pack of up to 3,000 mAh charging capacity and also house the new apple airpods. The airpods will be inserted into either the top or bottom of the case configured in a way that takes up the least amount of space. There will need to be a mechanism where the airpods are stored where they can easily be removed either by flipping open a tab (similar to the current stand alone case apple offers, or a mechanism where when you push in the headphone it pops out) There are very specific design requirements by apple to be acceptable to their standards. The case will need to have dual functionality as both a case that can provide at least up to one full charge for the new iphone 7 as well as the ability to have a single button operation to switch the charge over to the airpods. The case itself needs to be as thin as possible vertically, horizontally and the depth. There needs to be cut outs for where the battery, hardware and a molded housing for the airpods to keep them secure. The edges of the case will also need to be designed to provide the maximum protection for both devices. Essentially the case will be able to house both your phone as well as the airpods for convenience purposes as well as to be able to continually keep both of your devices charged. There will need to be details included as to the different parts of the case. The airpods are charged magnetically, refer to apples website for details. The dimensions of the iphone 7 are 5.44" L x 2.64" W x .28" H. The airpod dimensions are .65" L x .71" W x 1.59" H. The design needs to be both a rendering for 3D modeling as well as a CAD rendering that can be used for full production. I've attached a rough mockup of what the case may look like. Keep in mind, I am not experienced in 3D design but wanted to give you a rough concept of how it may be structured.
