We require a help system to be written for BlueIntegrator, our cutting-edge integration and automation platform, which is very similar to Microsoft BizTalk. The previous version was called SmartsIntegrator (see [[login to view URL]][1]), and had a basic help file.? However, this was very poor, and doesn't cover most of the new features in BlueIntegrator such as EDI conversion.
We have put together a temporary help file for the new version based on this (attached) which touches most areas, but we need new help content written from scratch to provide a much better impression and introduction, and consistent and appropriate coverage of all product areas.
This new help content should be delivered in HTML form (with some form hierarchical navigation to guide the user through the content), although Adobe RoboHelp format would also be fine.
The HTML should be readily stylable by CSS or e.g. using ASP.Net Master Pages.
We need somebody technically able to install and work diligently thorough the application, producing appropriate help content for both concepts, basic introductory scenarios and features/functions in detail.? We will of course be on hand to help as required, as the application can present a bit of a learning curve.
I estimate the new help content will need to be at least twice as detailed as the previous, and done properly this is likely to take at least a man month.? Delivery is probably best done in two stages - firstly a reworking of the existing content in a more appropriate and accessible format (alongside application familiarisation), and then we can deliver feedback in the form of topics and areas that need to be added and expanded.
