Database connection authentication

Database: Sybase Adaptive Server Anwhere - Version 9.0 Distributed database is an OEM version. OEM version requires that any connection made to the database must also send an authentication command so that data base be updated in the database. I know that when the first 'Fill' occurs, the connection is made to the database.
