We want to launch a penny auction site that will sell designer handbags and accessories. Main competitor is runwaybidder.com.
Design: plain slick design is required. Nothing fancy. For look & feel ideas are [login to view URL], topshop.com. White background, full page. Must be responsive theme that is mobile ready. Home page has slider + info + some of the current auctions. FAQ page.
Functionality: Please have a look at [login to view URL] for general overview:
-All users must register (name and email address and DOB only. Must be over 18).
-Buy bid packages from their account (PayPal only for now but show debit card & direct PayPal payment separately).
-Auction products have specified end time. Show RRP.
-Once the specified auction time ends the bidding time is extended by 10 seconds with every new bid
-Each bidder can see their bidding activity, bidding cost, delivery charge, saving, etc on the product bid page. Total transparency. Also, overall recent bidding activity from all bidders. (Last 10 bids)
I am familiar with Magento Community edition. So, I am leaning towards this platform. But if there is something more appropriate to use, I will be interested to hear about it.
