I would recommend a content management system like Joomla which has the ability to allow easy install of a blog and shopping cart. There are various available but I would recommend EasyBlog from Stackideas who have incredible support. Utilising the features of a content management system such as Joomla provides you with a proven secure platform where bugs have been ironed out. Development time is also fast. There are many beautiful templates available and a huge number of additional components to extend the feature list as your site grows. Most importantly, Google seems to love Joomla installs with sites quickly being indexed and listed. The install of Joomla and components would take less than an hour. It's then just a case of adding your content. The shopping carts are also easy to use with many featuring some advanced features and reporting functions. I have placed a bid which reflects purchase of the various components although if you decide not to use them then we can reduce the price and use some free versions. I have been using Joomla since its initial development and have a very experienced team of developers available who can provide custom functionality in the future.
