The digital caliper that i suppose you plan to use in the project will be having the 3 wire output. You might plan to connect it to a display board or on to an IOT Platform. The Lora device I assume should change to Class C from Class A on the starting of measurement and change its state back to Class A. I am having a LoRa sensor node and LoRa gateway of my own. And expertise/ devices for creating Lora Sensor Node on STM32 and Arduino platform. Currently I am doing a project on LoRa for a US client on LoRa. OK, could you explain the detail of how your digital calipers work and what you expect for them in using LoraWAN. What is the micro controller you need to use? the main portal is required for handle many calipers node?
