I would begin by reading the entire book. I assume from the project description that you're happy with the index itself and it's the page number cross-references you need to be checked? I have allowed 14 days as this needs to be done very carefully. One thing to consider is that the page numbers may change if the page size or line spacing is changed - I've been caught out like that before. I would look forward to this project.
