Hello,
I live in Rockville, MD, not too far from DC. Although I am not a landscaper per se, I would like to help you with your project and have some related experience:
- I am a part-time farmer in Montgomery County specializing in native fruit (persimmon, pawpaw, etc.) and thus have some experience working with fruit trees (pruning, pest control, planting, grafting, etc.) I have not worked with cherry but have general pruning experience and quick access to local cherry producers, whom I can turn to if in doubt. Also, I have planted (and occasionally moved or replanted) numerous fruit trees.
- I am generally knowledgeable on plants and specifically many local/native species. I have taken landscape technology classes at Montgomery College, have participated in local "Rainscapes" initiatives to replace lawn grass with natives, and am a certified Pesticide Applicator in the State of Maryland (including organic pesticides).
- I don't have experience with roses, but am pretty good at looking things up online and dicing through the often conflicting advice that can be found. In general, I would be a good resource in terms of figuring out the best approach, timing, etc. to the projects you've described, as well as others you may have in mind for your garden down the road.
Please note that I am bidding based on your project description but am open to negotiating hourly, or project-by-project rates, if the work will be ongoing.
Best Regards,
Charles (caugustus3)
