You should use notepad++ or a similar text editing package to write your HTML and CSS files. You must NOT use a graphical web design tool such as Dreamweaver. The web site should contain at least four and no more than ten individual pages. Examples of suitable subjects would be:

- a web site promoting yourself, your business or your hobby.

- a web site promoting a band.

- a web site advertising a film or TV program.

The subject matter of this Web site is entirely your decision, but it must not be offensive, illegal, or contain material which the University would consider to be inappropriate. All the words on the site must be written by you. They must not be copied from anywhere. You are not permitted to use printed material that you have re-typed.

All the content images on the site must be your own, or you must have written permission to use them. You cannot just download images from the web unless you have clear permission to use them. You may use free buttons, icons, etc. that have been made available for use on the Web as part of the design, but you must identify the source of all such images that you use in your report.

You should also produce a report that covers the following areas:

Provides an introduction to your web site and its overall structure

Provides a clear explanation of what you did and what was provided by others e.g. designs, code snippets, images, audio, video

Contains a series of screen shots showing your web site working in different browsers and with different resolutions. Written comments should be included

Contains screenshots showing HTML validation by the W3C validator. Written comments should also be included.

Contains screenshots showing CSS validation by the W3C validator. Written comments should also be included

Contains screenshots showing accessibility testing. Written comments should also be included.

Contains an honest evaluation of the finished web site

Is well written and presented

Does not exceed 1000 words
