I need a basic Java server to show a number of machines and processes in an estate.
The idea is to view a number of processes running on different servers, the state of the servers themselves, and send commands to them.
Note the backend server just needs to work with mockup data APIs. Ie make a good API for getting/retrieving process/server information, and implement simple test data coming through that API. I'll use your API and fill in real information later.
Would like it based on the following bootstrap theme [login to view URL]
The finished product required the following:
1] Login page - enter username/password, verify with 'hardcoded api' to validate user and let them in. Otherwise they don't get access. Remember to put in logout.
2] Main screen has left bar. Top entry is dashboard, followed by processes tab, followed by servers tab
3] Clicking on processes or servers brings up a search page.
Query java api - returns resultset for process or servers.
You need to show that in the frontend gui.
We need search and filtering - there are multiple javascript libs for doing that
(including crossfilter)
Double clicking or otherwise selecting an icon will go to detail page.
4] Assume each process and server has a "uniqueId" string.
On the java side You can ask the backend api for process and server information
using that unique id.
5] On querying a process/server unique id - you will receive an Map.
Each map entry has a text name.
The value is an object such as a result set.
It is your job on the detail to create a good looking web page for each entry.
We need the following on the detail view:
a> top title bar with all the map headers - clicking on this will scroll down to the appropiate section on the detail page
b> Section for each map entry. Collapsible section for each generated item.
If [login to view URL] is a resultset - Create a good looking sorted table for the data.
Do a lookup on the java side against name vs colours etc as would prefer different
colours per table. (even if it starts with choosing the colour from 3 choices based on
hash value of name/map entry key)
c> At top of the detail view - add a big icon to display the process/server.
Implement a command dropdown system.
(You can get this from "commands" map entry from the java api)
If the user chooses one, you get a "sure to do X" and yes/no.
If yes - call on java api with "uniqueid" and command name.
6] I use undertow - no spring please.
Keep the gui clean/nice/good looking.
All code and the copyright of the produced code must belong to me in full. I have full and complete ownership of delivered works. Created code must not be given to any other parties.
