Build a item array in a Vue Project using JavaScript by calling an API from a query string

I need a JavaScript function that will take 4 variables. One the parent URL, the Affiliation string, The date range string and the search terms. I need for the function to parse the search terms so that no more than 500 characters are added to the query string. 500 is my project number but I should be able to change it. The reason for this is that if the query string is too long then the api returns an error message. The string will loop to produce The url = url +"(" + [login to view URL] 500 +")" + "("+ affiliation + ")" + "(" + date range +")" then the next 500 characters The url = url +"(" + [login to view URL] 500 +")" + "("+ affiliation + ")" + "(" + date range +")" until all is done. The api will return a list of ListID numbers See attachment for more detail. I don't need an application just code that I can put into another project
