Create written content for a short online training course aimed at graduate/associate patent agents based in the US.

Scope of work
To create written content for a short online training course aimed at graduate/associate patent agents based in the US.
The content will mirror typical tasks that graduate/associate patent agents undertake in a commercial law firm based in the US.
The course content will be based on the following six main focus areas:
1. Introduction to IP and Patent Law
2. Requirements for Patentability (in more detail, including consideration of applicable case law)
3. How to Conduct a Patentability Search
4. Written Description Requirements
5. Intro to Application Drafting: The Components of a Provisional Application
6. Intro to Claim Drafting
Structure of content required
The successful applicant will create 1-2 tasks for each of the six main focus areas above, to provide course participants with an overall understanding of both the theory and practice of that particular area. Tasks could include multiple choice questions, conducting patentability searches, drafting patent applications, drafting patent claims.
Other materials that may need to be developed are resources to assist participants with the task and a sample answer of how the task should be approached.

Expertise: Experience writing educational course content; 2-3 years legal experience in US patent law; Strong legal written skills
Location: Remote
Role type: Contract role
Duration: Approx. 1-2 month duration
Remuneration: hourly rate (to be discussed) - $18.00 to $30.00/hour
Timeline
First content draft due (provide a summary of the tasks you propose) - 7 February
Second content draft due (after receiving feedback, flesh out the items further) - 21 February
Final content draft due (revert with updated version based on any feedback received and iterations required) - 28 February
