We have a Gallery2 installation which needs to be moved to a different server (though we keep the DNS name) AND upgraded to Gallery 3 with all user logins, albums and photos kept intact.
Both systems have Mysqldumper installed to dump and restore the MySQL database.
More details on the old server:
* It is a hosted server where we have FTP access and CONFIXX installed.
* The size of the picture database is around 4GB
* We have an old domain name pointing to it
The New Server:
* Has only access through SSH with public keys (authorized_keys) running on Debian 6
* It serves the pages through NGINX
* It has a gallery3 installation behind NGINX which works
You job:
* Move Gallery2 to your own server for the upgrade.
* Upgrade from Gallery2 to Gallery3 on your own server. Why? Because Gallery2 behind NGINX is a problem and you don't want to waste time solving this. And we don't have a server with Apache.
* Move the upgraded version (Gallery3) over to the new server.
* Test that it works with the current Gallery3 setup, I am available for changing NGINX configuration.
Alternatively we offer you to use our new server to run the upgrade with Apache, but then installation of Apache, configuration for the upgrade and deinstall after you upgraded successfully is something you need to do on your own.
