I am looking for a freelancer with in-depth experiences in database design and development to help me assess if Hostgator or AWS will be a better match for my applications. The milestones are: 1. Review my application requirements 2. You write a report on comparing Hostgator vs AWS, and MySQL vs NoSQL. The application is to track weigh, food/drink intake, contact factors, and environment factors. Users will sign up, enter their profile, and start entering their activities (eg. food they ate and time of consumption) and their weight at anytime. Database will store the user's data. The database will also contain food/drink and the nutritional values for each, as well as environmental conditions. Upon user's inquiry, system will provide trend on weight vs food/drink/nutrients intake, or weight vs environmental factors. Here are the estimates of the data size: - For user entries, start with 50K rows and 300 columns. Number of columns is fixed, rows will grow at 5K per day. Data will be stored permanently. - For food or drink and their nutritional values, start with 100K rows and 100 columns. Number of columns is fixed, rows will grow at 1K per day. Data will be stored permanently. - For contact factors, start with 100K rows and 100 columns. Number of columns is fixed, rows will grow at 1K per day. Data will be stored permanently. - Environment conditions (eg. hourly records on temperature, humidity, etc) at various metropolitan areas. Number of columns is fixed (2000), rows will grow at 240 per day. Data will be stored permanently. I will review detail specs and flow diagrams as part of Milestone #1.

hi, I have been working for a very long time on developing such a large application. I have experience of designing such a big system. I can start work with you. Pay as you wish but be reasonable as I wil be putting lot of hardwork in it. At this point of time i can suggest you use of mysql and Cassandra as database. when data will grow large, retrieval will be faster using cassandra . For permanent storage definitly mysql is still better option. For large archived data, i have another solution (it may be still be cassandra, or hadoop). In the past i have developed such solution based on cassandra, mysql, redis/couchbase. First , we should create a mysql schema. details of which I can divulge you only after analysing your application. Then a separate camel job to transfer the data to Cassandra. I can do all these . May be the actual and final solution which I would suggest might be different . But consider this as my first hand analysis. If you like this you can drop me message here. Then we can chat in detail. for multi column data i suggest Cassandra. But please show me your requirement in detail. may be we could figure out something more simpler. regards, Bhoopendra
