I need to know how to get local phone numbers within a 1 week notice from all over the U.S. I need to have these numbers either ring to an Asterisk server or forward to one of my existing toll free numbers. Right now I use [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] to get local phone numbers in various cities to forward to my toll frees on my ds-3 in tampa but their coverage is limited and I need advice on what I can do to set up a system where I can get local phone numbers in any North American exchange to either ring to my Asterisk box or forward to an existing toll free number that I already have.
My carriers are Qwest and Paetec and they are useless in helping me with this, however I Know that companies like Vonage have local numbers everywhere and how do they do this?
The purpose is I have an advertising client who wants to drop mail anywhere in the county with local phone numbers that I process thru my switch, and with a service like [url removed, login to view] I am able to get coverage in some areas but if you want a Vonage phone, they seem to know how to get local numbers just about everywhere with very little lead time.
I need some advice from someone who can tell me what I can do or where I can go to be able to get local phone numbers anywhere in the country and provision them to ring into either my toll frees on my switch or ring into my asterisk pbx for further processing.
I want some useful advice, tips, whatever you have that can get me closer to this goal.
A written report with answers to my question. I am a communications engineer, I don't need details, I just need to know if you have ever seen this done, or how companies like Vonage manage to have all these local numbers already at their disposal without weeks and weeks of lead time.
